John Brubaker believes strongly in supporting charity. The following are charities that are near and dear to his heart;

The Deaf Childrens Literacy Project is the fundraising arm of the National Cued Speech Association. NCSA supports effective communication, language development and literacy through the use of Cued Speech. Cued Speech is a mode of communication based on the phonemes and properties of traditionally spoken languages. Cueing allows the deaf or hard of hearing to access the basic, fundamental properties of spoken languages through the use of vision.

The Military Officers Association of America established the American Patriots Scholarship as a result of the terrorists' attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The scholarship fund serves to help provide scholarships to children of uniformed services personnel-officers and enlisted- who died while in Active service as a member of the Regular, Guard or Reserve Forces.

It has been just 18 years since The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and Jim Valvano. Since 1993, The V Foundation has raised more than $100 million and awarded cancer research grants in 38 states. With a dire need for early developmental, critical-stage grant support, the Foundation was formed to assist the brilliant young researchers that will eventually find cures for cancer. 100% of all direct donations and net event proceeds fund cancer research.
